WNC Trout Predictor ("we," "our," "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and application ("Service").

Payment information: When you subscribe, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not directly collect, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. We receive your name, email address, and subscription status from Stripe.

Usage data: Our hosting provider (Netlify) automatically collects standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. We use this data only for site performance monitoring and do not sell or share it.

Location data: The application uses your general geographic coordinates (provided by your browser, with your permission) solely to calculate local weather conditions, sunrise/sunset times, and solunar periods. This data is processed in your browser and is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising
• We do not use third-party analytics (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, etc.)
• We do not collect or store fishing activity, catch data, or stream visit history
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone

3. How We Use Your Information

• To process your subscription and provide access to the Service
• To communicate with you about your account (e.g., password updates, service changes)
• To monitor and improve site performance and reliability

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe (stripe.com) — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Netlify (netlify.com) — website hosting. Subject to Netlify's Privacy Policy.
• USGS (waterservices.usgs.gov) — public stream data. No personal data is transmitted.
• Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — weather data. No personal data is transmitted.

5. Data Retention

We retain your email address and subscription status for as long as your account is active and for up to 12 months after cancellation for accounting and tax purposes. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction or deletion of your personal data
• Cancel your subscription at any time
• Opt out of any non-essential communications

California residents: Under the CCPA, you have additional rights regarding your personal information including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
